Auxiliary Verbs To Be

am, are, is ==> was, were, was (bentuk lampau/ past tense)


Berikut ini adalah contoh penggunaan Auxiliary verbs to be dalam beberapa bentuk kalimat nominal sentences. Yaitu kalimat yang predikatnya bukan kata kerja seperti Noun, Pronoun, Adjective, & Adverb. Perhatikan perubahan posisi to be pada bentuk kalimat itu. Pada kalimat negatif hanya tinggal menambahkan "not" setelah to be dan untuk interogatif (kalimat pertanyaan) tinggal memindahkan to be ke bagian depan kalimat sebelum subyek.

a. (+) They are teachers. (Noun)
(-)  They are not teachers.    ==> are not = aren’t (bisa disingkat seperti ini)
(?)  Are they teachers?

b. (+) He is tall. (Adjective)
(-)  He is not tall.    ==> is not = isn’t
(?)  Is he tall?

c. (+) She was sick last week. (Adjective)
(-)  She was not sick last week.    ==> was not = wasn't
(?)  Was she sick last week?

Silakan buat contoh kalimat sendiri dengan mengganti subyek dan predikatnya. Buatlah kalimat sederhana yang tepat sesuai English Grammar.

(to school by bus = kata keterangan/ pelengkap) -    She runs quickly. -    Your hand is bleeding .

CONJUNCTIONS (Kata Penghubung)

CONJUNCTION (Kata Penghubung) Adalah kata yang memiliki fungsi menghubungkan kata dengan kata, bagian kalimat dengan bagian kalimat, atau kalimat dengan kalimat.
